Santa Sighting at Kinder Works!

kw-santa-bearSanta Sighting
Tuesday, December 12th

Skip the lines at the Mall; the REAL Santa Claus is coming to Kinder Works!  Santa will arrive at 4:30PM on Tuesday, December 12th to visit all of our good little girls and boys.

Your family is invited to stop in for a visit during your regular pick-up time, between 4:30-6:30PM.  For AM and Mon-Wed-Friday families, please stop in to visit Santa between 5:30 and 6:30.

All children are welcome to visit with Santa while his “little elves” photograph this precious childhood memory.  Pictures will be framed and given to you the following week, so no need to wait for printing!  Families can also enjoy a light snack buffet, decorate a cookie, and take home a special gift!

The Giving Tree

The “Giving Tree”
November 27th – December 15th

The “Giving Tree” is a beautiful holiday tradition that we celebrate at Kinder Works.  Each year we decorate a tree with paper ornaments; each ornament bears the name and age of a local needy child.  Your child can choose one of these ornaments and become a “Secret Santa” for that child.

Visit our “Giving Tree” to choose an ornament with your child early in December.  Please return your gift in a gift bag, with the ornament as its tag, by placing it under the tree on or before December 15th.

Watching your child thoughtfully pick out a gift for a child in need will warm your heart!

Hurricane Relief Update

Hurricane Relief… because being kinder works.

       Dear Parents,

Our Hurricane Relief efforts have been met with generous donations!  Thank you so much!

Some people have asked if we would accept diapers and wipes (in lieu of money to buy the same) and the answer is YES!

We are ending collections on Friday, November 17th, so if you would like to make a last-minute donation, please do so on or before Friday (see PDF below).

Thank you so much for your generosity!

Thanksgiving Pow-Wows

Pow-Wows: a “Circle of Friends”
Monday & Tuesday, November 20th & 21st

We celebrate the Great Spirit of Friendship at our annual “Circle of Friends” Pow-Wows, to celebrate multi-cultural awareness, acceptance of diversity, as well as giving and gratitude.  The children don their own creative costumes (feather headdresses, “leather vests,” etc.) and chant and sing together before sharing a friendship snack.

All Preschool and Kindergarten classes gather together in the Gym on Monday, 11/20 at 2:30PM & Tuesday 11/21 at 10:30AM.  All Kinder Works children and their parents are welcome to attend.

Each Toddler class participates during their Gym/Music period.  Please look for specific times posted by the mail files if you would like to join in.

Workshop with Mike Haney

“Just Say Yes” Workshop with Mike Haney
November 16th at 6:30-7:30pm

You are invited to spend an hour with Mike Haney, an ECE consultant and expert on the psychology of parenting and teaching young children.  Mike provides strategies for communicating with children to successfully redirect undesired behaviors.  His approaches are healthy, effective, and simple.

He will be presenting at Kinder Works, 595 Bethlehem Pike, Montgomeryville PA (easy to get to from Limerick and Doylestown too).  We will have light refreshments and babysitting for your convenience.

Just click on the PDF below for your response form (alternatively, you may request a physical copy from your Director)!

Hurricane Relief

Hurricane Relief… because being kinder works.

Our American neighbors have recently suffered through hurricanes, floods and fires…and help has not always gotten to those in need. That’s why this Fall, instead of our traditional UNICEF collections, we have decided to take action to directly assist the many American families in distress.

We have arranged with a local supply and shipping company (S&S Industrial Equipment & Supply Co. NJ) to piggy-back on their shipments to the Caribbean. The U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico have not gotten aid as readily as our contiguous neighbors, such as Texas, California and Florida….and their circumstances are very bad. They are still without electricity, regular deliveries of food & water, and in many cases, roofs!

We have people on the ground to unload at the port docks and transport supplies to churches that are acting as distribution centers. Those churches are anxious for our donations; not money (which may end up in the wrong pockets), but the actual items needed.

They have made specific requests. Happily, we are able to fill those requests at cost! So….how can your family help?

Just check off an item (or part of a case; any amount) on the PDF below, give your order and payment to a Kinder Works Teacher or Director (please make checks out to Kinder Works)….and S&S has volunteered to pack, shrink-wrap, and load your purchases on pallets ready for shipping. (We will pay the shipping costs at a deep discount.)
